'cause, like, first of all, guys like him are never interested in guys like me. i mean, we've been hanging out more and he's nice but i kind of just assumed he's still in love with iris. i'm pretty sure he is. like, i brought it up when he asked me out and he said he is, but also that the two of them were having some trouble before he died? like, he's convinced she's destined to end up with you, and all that stuff. and also, i mean. i did wonder about the two of you. like... i know you said it was a one-time thing, and you've got patty, but i don't know, i didn't want to step on any toes. but i figured, he would know more about that sitch than me, and he was asking me out, so that must mean he's available.

But Cisco's his best friend, and Eddie's an incredibly good friend — so yeah, he's happy. And weirdly jealous, and a little sad for reasons that aren't remotely Eddie or Cisco's fault, and in the end he just finds himself wishing it were easier to be happy and ditch the rest. ]

[ Still not really sure he believes it is all good, but at least this answer sounds more like Barry. Maybe he just needs a bit of time to get used to the surprise. Goodness knows, Cisco had needed a while to wrap his head around it, when he first realized Eddie was interested in him.]

But... it's kind of nice, telling Barry about it, even though he half-suspects it is selfish, talking about what a nice time he'd had, when Barry is stuck here away from his girlfriend. ]
he cooked me dinner, too. which was like, way nice. little bit freaky since that's what kendra did on our last date, but no crazy dudes with knives showed up this time, thank god.
