Hey, Clara. [ He gestures half-heartedly towards the coffee, giving a slight nod. ] Pick your poison.
[ She offers him a small smile, moving to the other side of the counter. She shifts, taking the box of chocolates out from under her arm to lay it on top of the counter.
It's ridiculous, this box: pink and red and frilly with a giant fabric rose on top, and bigger than both their heads put together. She pries off the lid, and there's an impressive amount of dark chocolate inside, though there's quite a few pieces missing from one section. ]
I figured I'd best share before I stress eat the entire thing.
[ Barry slides a pair of mugs full of coffee onto the bar between them before leaning forward onto his elbows, smile broadening into a grin. The box is absolutely ridiculous, and his tone's mockingly impressed as he inspects it. ]
Nice. Are you sure you wanna commit to that, though? Because I can put away a box of chocolates.
[ Or anything else that's edible, really. But in this particular instance it's supposed to be a joke, and he doesn't rush to help himself to the chocolates just yet. ]
